You can download either the plain or the antialiased piece sets. The actual
pieces in them are the same - the difference is how they are rendered. Plain
piece sets will have jagged edges while antialiased will have smooth edges. On
the flip side, the antialiased piece sets may draw slower.
IMPORTANT: You cannot use the antialiased piece sets under
Windows if you run Jin with Microsoft VM. Read the readme.txt file for further
information.
The zip file you download contains more zip files inside it. You do not need to unzip the inner files. To install, you put all the inner zip files into:
[jin-directory]\resources\pieces\
where [jin-directory] is the directory into which you installed Jin,
typically C:\Program Files\Jin
~/.jin/resources/pieces/
or [jin-directory]/resources/pieces/
/users/username/.jin/resources/pieces/
where username is your account username on your computer
(not the chess server username). To locate the folder, launch a new Finder
window, and from the Go menu find the Go to Folder command. Then type:~/.jin.jin folder in /users/username is a hidden folder.
resources/pieces folder yourself.
Make sure it's capitalized correctly (all lowercase).
Once you've successfully installed the pieces, restart any running instances
of Jin. You should then be able to select the new piece sets from the
Preferences->Chess Board menu.
If you're having any problems, post a message on Jin's help forum.
